Installation and Commissioning of Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (GFAAS) including Water Purification System, ICP-OES with Microwave Digestion System, Phytoplankton Image Analysis System (PIAS) with accessories and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) (Floor top) with EDS.
The package is officially managed by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Equipment-Specific Installation & Validation
Each analytical instrument must be commissioned according to the manufacturer’s operational qualification (OQ) protocols:
- SEM with EDS: Commissioned with its vibration-dampening mounting to guarantee imaging stability, alongside testing of the Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) detector for elemental mapping.
- GFAAS: Positioned with a dedicated fume hood and auto-sampler to test parts-per-billion (ppb) heavy metal detection.
- ICP-OES: Installed alongside the microwave system for robust, simultaneous multi-elemental analysis.
- Microwave Digestion System: Commissioned for safe closed-vessel digestion, which is necessary to prevent the loss of volatile trace elements during sample prep for the GFAAS and ICP-OES.
- Water Purification System: Setup first to provide continuous Type 1 ultra-pure water for digestion blanks and standard preparations.
